![]() SUMMERLAND, B.C. – Gudmund Lindbjerg of Port Moody, B.C. held on to his lead today and captured the 2008 BC Senior Men’s title at Summerland Golf and Country Club in Summerland, B.C. Lindbjerg carded a final-round 76 and tournament-total two-over 218 to finish with a two-stroke lead over runner-up Brian Alexander of Burnaby, B.C. Lindbjerg who started the day one stroke up on Alexander, bogeyed holes four and seven to fall even with Alexander through ten holes. Birdies at 11 and 14 for Lindbjerg along with Alexander’s doubles at 12 and 17 finally gave Lindbjerg the lead he needed to stick down the title. Finishing with a share of five-over 221 were Ken Thompson of Nanaimo, B.C. for third place by retrogression and 2005 BC Senior Men’s champion, Noel Pumfrey of Victoria in fourth. In the Super Senior’s division, William Wilms of Delta, B.C. carded a final 16-over 232 to claim the title by retrogression over yesterday’s leader, Ron Stone of Penticton, B.C. Gary Puder of Burnaby, B.C. finished in third by retrogression at 17-over 233 over fourth place finisher Rick Weihe of Bellingham, WA. The Senior Men’s team representing B.C. for the 2008 Canadian Senior Men’s Amateur Championship at Sault Ste. Marie Golf Club September 9-12 2008 will be, Gudmund Lindbjerg, Brian Alexander, Ken Thompson and Noel Pumfrey. EZ-GO is the presenting cart sponsor of the BC Senior Men's Championship and Official Golf Cart of the BCGA. The B.C. Senior Men's Championship is one of 12 provincial championships conducted annually by the BC Golf Association.
